for which the abbot and convent have granted in exchange:
The meadow in Sandlake (E: the messuage of Simon Faber; W: the messuage which belonged to Dering in Sandlake), which Ralph Piscator gave them in free alms
to hold to Humphrey, his heirs and assigns (except religious) of the abbot and convent, by an annual rent of 8d
The abbot and convent have released Humphrey from the service of finding a horse with a rider at the abbot's summons, which he was accustomed to perform for a field called Strellewell', and for 2a lying against the hospital of Battle and for 2a in Menilond; the abbot and convent will warrant the land by the annual rents which it paid 8d on 21 Dec for the field and 4d on 29 Sep for the 4a
