Grant, indented, by Benet Sypwricte, warden of London Bridge, and the proctors and brethren and sisters of the same place, to Ralph de Berkinge, cornmonger, and Edith his wife, of land in the parish of St Olave, Suthwerk, lying between the land which the said Ralph and Edythe hold of the smae bridge on the W, and the land of the Abbot of Battle on the E, and extending from the royal highway to the land of the bridge aforesaid for the annual render of 5s to the grantors, and of 6d., or a pound of pepper as quit-rent (forgabulum).
