Covenant of Henry Poteman, fishmonger, and Dionysia his wife, daughter of Stephen Pikeman, made in the presence of sir john breton, knight, then warden of Londno, robert basinges, william de betoyne , john de canterbury, richard aswy, william le mazelyner, adam de rokesle, thomas romeyn, john de dunstaple, aldermen, and adam de fulham, alderman of bridge ward, assembled atthe instance of Edward Horn and Thomas Cros, thenwardens of London bridge, upon the quay called ‘fishwarf’. belonging to the said stephen, henry and dionysia in the parish of st magnus the martyr; wherein they bind themselves to build a firm and stable foundation (fundamentum) of stone and lime, on their land, to sustain four wooden posts beneath the houses on the bridge, lying between the said foundation on the E and the passuty [?sp]- wall of the said henry and Dionysia next the street leading to the drain (clonca) of the bridge, and containing in breadth next the tenement of Florence, relict of ralph le archer on the N 2 5/8 ells, and in the midst 2 3/4 ells, 8 ins, and at the southern end next the deepest part of the thames (iuxta profunditaten Tamisie). 3 ells and in length from the tenement of the said florence on the N as far as the deepest part of hte thames on the S, 8 ells
