Quitclaim by Peter Fauset, for his soul, those of his parents and all his ancestors, to the Lady Altar of his whole land in the vill of Westminster, which he held of the precentor, Robert [of Moulsham], to provide lights for that altar. Robert gave him a gersum of 7s. 2d., and Peter placed the charter on the altar. [c. 1200]
Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Petrus Fauset, pro salute anime mee et patris et matris mee et omnium antecessorum meorum, concessi et dimisi et quietum clamavi de me et omnibus successoribus et heredibus meis Deo et altari Beate Virginis Marie ecclesie Westmonasterii totam terram meam in villa Westmonasterii quam tenui de Roberto precentore, ad luminaria predicti altaris inperpetuum administranda. Pro hac autem concessione et dimissione et carte mee confirmatiofie dedit mihi prefatus Robertus septem solidos et duos denarios. Hanc autem cartam super predictum altare Beate Marie optuli ad invenienda eiusdem altaris luminaria inperpetuum. Hiis testibus: Ricardo Testard; Gaufrido de Cruce; Stephano de Berking'; Thoma vinitore; Nicholao de celario; Ricardo filio Randulfi; Laurentio Muschet; Adam, Gaufrido, Johanne, servientibus ecclesie Westmonasterii, et multis aliis.
