Confirmation by William de Hobregge, for his soul and those of his parents and ancestors, to the Blessed Virgin, to provide lights for the Lady Altar, of his whole land and tenement which he had from Hamo de Hotot in the vill of Westminster, of the abbot's fee, comprising the land and tenement which William, son of Richer, John Pimerich and Peter Fausard held of William in that viii. The Altar will hold this land in perpetuity of William and his heirs, saving the tenancies of the tenants, by service of is. annually, which the proctor of the Altar will render the abbot; and 1 lb cumin to William or his heirs. William has restored to Robert [of Moulsham] the precentor his charter which he had from Hamo de Hotot concerning that tenement. [c. 1200]
Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Willelmus de Hobregge dedi et concessi et hac presenti carta mea confirmavi Deo et Beate Marie ad luminaria invenienda altari Beate Marie in ecclesia Beati Petri Westmonasterii, pro animabus patris et matris mee, et antecessorum meorum, et pro salute anime mee, totam terram et totum tenementum illud quod habui in villa Westmonasterii de dono Hamonis de Hotot de feodo abbatis Westmonasterii, scilicet: totam terram illam et totum tenementum illud quod Willelmus filius Richeri et Johannes Pimerich' et Petrus Fausard tenuerunt de me in eadem villa.
