Confirmation by Richard Testard, in pure and perpetual alms, for his soul and those of his ancestors, to the Lady Altar of a rent of 2s. 2d. in the viii of Westminster, to provide lights: namely that rent which Robert Mauduit the king's chamberlain and his heirs rendered Richard and his heirs for three acres of land which lie between the road of Tothill (in Westminster) and the road which runs from Tothill towards the Hospital of St James, as far as the meadow, and for one acre of meadow which Robert and his heirs hold of Richard and his heirs, for the aforesaid 2s. 2d. annually, which Robert and his heirs will render the proctor of the Lady Altar. Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Ricardus Testard dedi et concessi et hac presenti carta mea confirmavi, pro salute anime mee et animarum antecessorum meorum, Deo et altari Sancte Marie Westmonasterii redditum viginti sex denariorum in villa Westmonasterii, in puram et perpetuam elemosinam ad luminaria predicti altaris administranda: ilium videlicet redditum quem Robertus Mauduit, domini regis camerarius, et heredes sui mihi et heredibus meis solvere tenentur pro tribus acris terre que jacent inter viam de Tothull' et viam que extendit de Tothull' versus Hospitalem Sancti Jacobi usque in pratum; et pro una acra prati quam predictus Robertus et heredes sui tenent de me et heredibus meis pro prefatis xxvj denariis per annum, solvendis ad duos terminos anni, scilicet: ad Pascha xiij denarios; et ad Festum Sancti Michaelis xiij denarios. Quos xxvj denarios custos prenominati altaris Beate Marie qui pro tempore fuerit recipiet de predicto Roberto et heredibus suis ad prefatos terminos ad luminaria prefati altaris administranda liberos et quietos ab omni seculari servitio et exactione.
