Confirmation, in pure and perpetual alms, by Geoffrey de Cruce, at the petition and with the assent of his wife Edith and Geoffrey his son and heir, to the Lady Altar, for the souls of his parents and of all their ancestors, of a rent of 2s. 8d. which Alan of Aldwych rendered them annually from a curtilage. The younger Geoffrey, assenting, placed the charter on the Lady Altar. [Temp. John]
Sciant presentes et futuri quod ego Galfridus de Cruce, peticione, concessione et voluntate Edithe uxoris mee et Galfridi filii et heredis mei, dedi et concessi, et hac presenti carta mea confirmavi Deo et altari Beate Marie de Westmonasterio, pro animabus patrum et matrum et omnium antecessorum nostrorum, triginta duorum denariorum redditum, quos Alanus de Aldewiche nobis solebat reddere per annum pro uno curtillagio quod de nobis tenuit; habendum et tenendum bene et in pace, libere et quiete, in puram et perpetuam elemosinam, sine aliquo retenemento nostri vel successorum nostrorum. Et sciendum est quod ego Galfridus et heredes mei predictos triginta duorum denariorum redditus conventui de Westmonasterio warantizabimus contra omnes gentes. Hanc vero elemosinam et donacionem Galfridus filius et heres meus ex parte sua concessit et dedit et presentem cartam super ipsum altare Beate Marie posuit et optulit.
