rent from kind and buildings belonging to Matilda, late wife of Nicholas dc
Gypeswico, clerk, in the parish of St. Botolph without Alegate, towards East
Smithfield. Witnesses : Gregory de Rokesle, Mayor of London, Henry

[f. 162] [1274-5] Grant by Walter son of Robert (le) Flemyng of Bixle to Eustace prior and convent of 2s. p.a. of quit rent which the grantor received from land with houses from Matilda widow of Nicholas de Ipswich (Yepeswych, Gypeswico), clerk; abutments, Matilda's land on the north and the land of William Somer towards Estsmethefeld; [f. 162v] with free entry and exit for the canons to distrain upon the houses if the quit rent is in arrears; if the land is not distrainable, the canons are to enter the grantor's lands which he holds in the parish and which were once of Stephen de Quernbeter; the canons gave 18s. sterling; sealed; witnesses, Gregory de Rokesle, mayor, Henry de Frowyk, Luke de Batincourt, sheriffs, Edmund Trentmars.]]]]]]]
