I Ralph de Disceto Dean and the Chapter of St. Paul [a] London have granted the land of Maurice son of Guthake which Bernard the Sacristan (Sacrista) held of us which was portion of London and that land which Samarus the Tanner held of us and is before the eastern part of the church of St. Nicholas which formerly was of St. Olaf which also the same Maurice by his testament left to the Monks of Certeseye to the same Monks to be held of us Rendering therefor to us every year 4s. 4d. in the feast of the Apostles Peter Of 4s. 4d. to and Paul So that to wit to whomsoever the aforesaid Monks shall lease the aforesaid land or in any manner shall grant for inhabitation that inhabitant shall give security to us for the yearly payment of that 4s. 4d. at the aforesaid term Witnesses : Ralph de Disceto dean, P. the Archdeacon, Master R.
