I Alan Abbot of Certeseye and the whole Convent of the same place with the common assent of our whole Chapter have granted and demised to Robert le Formager of London all our land with all its appurtenances which was of Robert Guthake in the parish of St. Nicholas Olaf in London Which land is between the land which Robert held of us in fee towards the north and the land which was of William de Aumerie towards the south and the land of Huhg le Mercer towards the east and the King’s way which is called Bredstrete towards the west . . . . .to hold . . . . . . to Robert and his heirs or to whomsoever he and his heirs shall wish to grant or assign [the same], except religious men and Jews for ever Rendering therefor yearly to us and our successors ios sterling at 4 terms of the year and to the hospital of St. John of Clerkenwell 5s. at 2 terms of the year for all service and all things For this grant Robert has given us 6 marks sterling in gersumam [Right of distraint according to the custom of the city of London.] Witnesses : A. de Basynge then mayor of London, N.
