450. Confirmation to the Lady Altar, to provide lights, by Isabel [Basset], wife of Robert Mauduit [Ill, the king's chamberlain, for her soul, that of her husband, and of all their ancestors and successors, of 7s. 8d. rents in the viii of Westminster, of the fee of John son of Edward, which he confirmed to her by charter. The rents are due from Juliana, widow of Adam of Sunbury; William le Wallur, Edric of the Garden and Martin Smud, their heirs or assigns, for tenements which they held of John in Tothill Street, as stated in John's charter which she assigned to the proctors of the altar. Noven t universitas vestra me, caritatis intuitu et pro salute anime mee et domini mei et omnium antecessorum et successorum nostrorum, dedisse et concessisse et hac presenti carta mea confirmasse Deo et altari gloriose Virginis Marie in ecclesia Westmonasterii, ad luminarium administrandum, septem solidatos et octo denariatos redditus in villa Westmonasterii, de feodo Johannis filii Edwardi: illos scilicet quos predictus Johannes michi dedit, concessit et carta sua confirmavit pro sex marcis argenti; de quo redditu Juliana que fuit uxor Ade de Sunnebur', et Willelmus le Wallur, et Edricus de Gardino, et Martinus Smud et heredes [suorum et] eorum assignati fuerunt mihi et heredibus meis vel assignatis respondere, de tenementis qua de memorato Johanne tenuerunt in eadem villa, in vico scilicet de Tothull', sicut in carta predicti Johannis continetur et distinguatur. Quam cartam procuratoribus memorati altaris quam sepedictus Johannes michi fecit liberam ob maiorem securitatem predicti redditus percipiendi, assignavi enim procuratores prefatos qui pro tempore fuerint, ad prefatum redditum percipiendum de suprascriptis tenentibus et eorum heredibus, ad eosdem terminos in carta ipsius Johannis statutos et assignatos, libere et quiete, integre et plenarie, sine omni reclamatione vel calumpnia mei vel heredum meorum, salvis predicto Johanni et eius heredibus duobus denariis ad Pascham et ad Festum Sancti Michaelis per manus predictorum procuratorum persolvendis. Ut autem hec mea donatio et concessio et carte mee confirmatio rata et stabilis perseveret, earn presenti scripto et sigilli mei appositione corroboravi.
