449. Confirmation by John son of Edward to Isabel, wife of the king's chamberlain Robert Mauduit, and her heirs, of 7s. 8d. rent in the viii of Westminster, comprising 4s. 2d. from Juliana, widow of Adam of Sunbury, for the fee which she held in Tothill Street, between the land formerly belonging to Mr William of Hanslope and that of William the palmer; and 3s. 6d. rent, of which William le Wallere rendered is. 6d., Edric of the Garden rendered is. 6d., for the fees they held of him in Tothill Street, Westminster, between the land of Robert Mauduit and that of Roger Fot, and Martin Smud rendered 6d. for his fee in Tothill Street, between the land of Roger Fot and that of Gervase of the Kitchen. Isabel might dispose of that land as she pleased, even to a religious [house], saving to him only a rent of 2d. If Isabel suffers loss because of the is. 5d. rent which John is bound to render the almoner of Westminster annually for those rents, he concedes that Isabel or her heirs may receive from the fee which Lucy of Barking holds of him in Tothill Street as much of that 1.s. 5d. as they render the almoner through his default. Gersum of six marks (£4). [Temp. John]
