A. 10791. Feoffment by Geoffrey de Hachesham, lorimer, and Cecily
his wife, daughter of Nicholas son of Osbert de Chigewelle, to Edmund de
Chigewelle, tawyer (alutarid), of a place of land, with buildings, in the
parish of St. Michael towards Alegate, and of 4s. quit-rent from the house
of John le Barbur in the same parish, and of the same fee ; the site has
a street frontage of 7 iron ells of King Edward I, &c. ; rent to them,
a clove (gariophilum) at Easter and 5s. to the lord of' Chigewelle ; consideration,
4i marks beforehand. Witnesses : Sir Henry le Waleis, then
mayor. Nicholas de Winchester (Wyntonia) and Henry de Coventre,
sheriffs, John de Norhamtone [Northampton], alderman of the ward, and others (named).
