A. 7821. Chirograph, not indented, being a grant and demise by
Hernisius son of Hugh the dyer to Mauger (Malyero) of Candelewrite Strate of
the land which Mauger held of his said father ; to hold in fee and heredity
rendering 8s. yearly for all service ; and in augmentation he has demised to
the said Mauger and his heirs the land which Gerard the smith (faber)
held of the said Hugh his father ; to hold for 3s. Qd. yearly. The sum of
the rent is half a mark yearly to wit 4CW. within the octave of Easter, and
4(W, within the octave of Michaelmas ; for this Malgerus has given him 20s.
in gersum for the one, and 40s. for the other, tenement, and to Juliana his
wife 2s. in gersum. Witnesses : William the priest (sacerdott) of St.
Clement, Robert the priest of Habechirce, Benedict the alderman, Peter
son of Neuel, Thomas son of Margaret and others (named). |
