A. 1901. Grant by Gilbert de Cantebrigia, palmer, to Geoffrey
Godard, citizen of London, for 4^ marcs, of half a marc yearly quit-rent
issuing from the tenement he had of Edmund, son of Benedict the Bellmaker,
in the parish of St. Stephen Coleman-street, London, adjoining
St. Stephen's churchyard on the south. The size of the tenement is
stated in iron ells of King Henry. Witnesses : Thomas son of Thomas,
then Mayor, Richard de Walebrok, Philip the Taylor (Scissore), sheriffs of
London, Peter son of Alan, alderman of the ward, and others (named).
