Record that Nicholas son of Clement, canon of St. Paul's, has restored to the abbey of St. Mary, Stratford Langthorne [Essex] the land and houses near to the church of St. Martin, Ludgate, which he had bought from them. The abbey is to hold them after his death, in return for annual payments to the canons of St. Paul's and the nuns of Clerkenwell [Middlesex].

Hanc igitur terram sicut dictum est . cum pertinenciis suis reddidit domnus Nicholaus prefatis monachis eo tamen intuitu 7 tenore ut singulis anu s ecclesia de Stratford' post decessum domini Nicholai . reddat 1 canonicis ecclesie sancti Pauli de terra illa duos solidos . 7 duos similiter solidos sanctimonialibus de Fonte clericorum.
