Corrody, indented, recording the reception by Michael Tovy and Stephen de Estengate, wardens of London Bridge, and the brethren of the same place, of Thomas Juvene (Juuenis) and Ysabella his wife, as brother and sister of the Bridge House; the said Thomas and Ysabella to be allowed their board, 1mk. a year each for clothing, and a decent room within the close, with a serving-woman (mancipula) to wait upon them. In return they have sworn to observe towards the said wardens and house fidelity, respect and reverence, as is becoming religious, under the form following; that if at any time the wardens or their successor shall be proved in default with regard to the premisses, the matter shall be set right by discreet, sober and honest men called for the purpose; without trouble or altercation; the said Thomas and Ysabella to be allowed freely to enter into possession of the tenements or rents which were bought, with their chattels, for the use of the Bridge (which chattels they gave to the same Bridge in the beginning), and to retain them until satisfaction has been made, or for life: parceled that after the death of the said Thomas and Ysabella they shall revert forthwith to the Bridge.
